Amy Ursitti

Undergraduate Research Assistant

B .S. Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology, Emory University, 2022

Amy is an undergraduate student at Emory University originally from Boston, MA. Her interest in the brain and approaching questions with seemingly complicated answers began at a young age, not long after her younger brother was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. She hopes to use what she learns in her research experience at Emory to better understand the neurophysiological underpinnings of pain and sensory sensitivity and to use that knowledge to improve the quality of life for individuals who suffer. Her goal after graduation is to attend medical school and ultimately specialize in developmental-behavioral pediatrics. Outside of the lab, Amy enjoys serving as the president of Emory Best Buddies and long-distance running.
